RENAISSANCE CARS OFFERS MASS PRODUCED ELECTRIC SPORTSCAR TO THE PUBLIC

EVS 12, ANAHEIM, CA., DECEMBER 1, 1994, Renaissance Cars, Inc., a Palm Bay, Florida developer of electric vehicles displayed its TROPICA and announced that their electric roadster will appear in dealer showrooms by January, 1995.

According to Bob Beaumont, RCI President, "The Tropica was designed to be built cost effectively even in small quantities. The Tropica has a MSRP of under $15 500 which makes it the first affordable electric car." The zero emission vehicle qualifies for a federal tax credit which is equal to 10% of the cost of the car. Recently, the Tropica was certified by the State of Califomia Air Resources Board which qualifies it for other State benefits and for the 1998 manufacturers two percent electric vehicle mandate.

The anticipated 1995 production of 2,700 electric cars will be sold to consumers through authorized RCI dealers. RCI has signed up 22 dealers, most of which are located near the manufacturing facility in Florida. East Bay BMW, located in Pleasanton, and Land Rover Mission Viejo, located south of L.A. are the two Califomia dealers.

The Tropica has many unique features such as an all aluminum chassis, and an anti-theft key system, an ultra light on-board battery charger, a hydraulic steering system and a retractable charging cord.
